The 1940s saw the Supertones of the 30s and mid-40s
give way to a variety of Silvertone branded acoustic guitars available from our
friends at Sears. From the low-end Harmony-made 605 to the Kay-built 'best'
flattop 613 model right on up to the Gretsch-made f-holed
714. Along with a 'Gene Autry' branded guitar and a handful of other round-hole
and f-hole guitars, the latter part of the 40s were a pretty good start for the Silvertone guitar 'brand.'
This page will lead you to various acoustic models
available in the 1940s. Because of the long 'life span' of the acoustic models,
some will spill into other decades. Enjoy!

thumbed through your Sears catalog index to 'Guitars,' you'd find this:
That asterisk meant 'not available,' as factories all over the United States
were devoting their capacity and materials to World War II munitions and supply
production.
