The 2256 was a member of the first family of Silvertone-branded six-string

beautiful touches abound in this pre-war guitar.

The Silvertone

2256
'Maestro' was part of a 'titled' line of
Silvertone guitars that came on the scene in 1940. It bears features seen in no
Silvertone before or since, and its similarities with a 40s-era 'Cremona'
guitar and its internal stampings confirm a Harmony-built origin. Featuring a
carved spruce top with maple back and sides, and a rosewood headstock cap and
inlaid script logo. Unusual details all around: the headstock,
non-traditional-shaped bound
f-holes, unique pickguard, and
'music note' fretboard markers. Complete with case, this guitar was only around for the late 1940
catalog.
