The popular nickname
for the 1446 is the
'Chris Isaak'
because of a vintage promo picture with
Chris hugging a nice 1446. His band is also named 'Silvertone,'
and he's been know to pick
one onstage and in videos.
Elvis Costello and the late
Hubert Sumlin have strummed a 1446 in their
time as well.

The 1446 was
made by our friends at Harmony, and began life as a Bigsby equipped
replacement for the popular 'Espanada.'
Over the past few years, it has become known as the 'Chris Isaak'
model, with its cool good looks and the unusual-shaped pickup bezels holding onto those famous Gibson-made mini-humbuckers.
With the retirement of the 1446 and its stagemates the
1454 and
the 1439 in 1967, the reign of single-cutaway hollowbody electric Silvertones came to an
end.
