The final Silvertone amp-in-case models were the 145X series, of which
the 1452 guitar is the two-pickup axe and amp setup. Dano was sold to MCA in
1968, and the Sears/Dano partnership sank soon after. Never again would you be able to purchase an
all-in-one rock and roll kit like this one.

The 1452 guitar was the two-pickup sibling to the 1451, the
last Dano-made Silvertone 6-string guitars sold by Sears. The companion amplifier was nearly identical to the 1457/1449, with
tone, volume, strength and speed for the footswitch operated tremolo. The differences were a re-located 8-inch speaker,
and no more grille 'beauty frame.' The guitar, of course, was now a true
soldidbody; no more poplar and Masonite, and we lost those famous 'stacked' knobs. Sad days for the
dynamic Silvertone/Dano duo, as the MIJ guitars took over in the Fall/Winter '68
Sears catalog.
