The 1451 (and its two-pickup partner, the 1452) was the last Danelectro guitar that Sears offered for sale. Dano was purchased by music giant
MCA in 1966, and it was the begining of the end of an era for Sears guitars...

The
1451
was a true solidbody from Danelectro. This guitar was the successor to
the very popular 1448 amp-in-case combo. The swoopy
headstock is the
same as the 1448, although a 'thick script' logo is now seen, and we keep the
simple mid-placed pickup and volume/tone electronics package.
The
body is solid, unlike the Masonite and poplar 1448 and 1457, and is reminiscent of a Fender
Mustang, or even a Strat. Also, like its semi-sold siblings, there is a glittery
sparkle to the paint job.
