The 1434 was so top
of the line they even gave it a name! Just like the 'two-twelve' that they
named the 1396, the 1434 was dubbed 'Medalist.' Two big twelves with 50 watts
pumpin' into them. Space age looks notwithstanding, Dano-built Silvertones
had changed very little this decade. Sound-wise, things were about to get very
interesting. Design-wise, this classic era of amp design was over.

Everything Danelectro had, they put into this
last amp of the 50s. Music was changing; rock and roll had exploded, and was
about to take over the airwaves and imagination as the dominant
influential music. Silvertone amps were about to change, too. Reverb was on the
way on certain models. Here come the sixties!
