The 253 was a member of the first family of Silvertone-branded six-string
archtops, first listed in the fall of 1940. Well-spec'd, nice woods, beautiful
touches abound in this pre-war guitar.

The Silvertone 253
'Crest' was part of a 'titled' line of Silvertone
guitars from Harmony that came on the scene in 1940. Spruce topped with maple
back and sides, with a unique to the line logo and fancy details on the
headstock laminate, multiple dot markers, front/back binding, a beautiful
pickguard, and snazzy details made this guitar a real treat.
