The Kay-built double cutaway 'paddle heads'
continued on for a few more catalog cycles with these 'slab bodied' guitars,
continuing the budget end of the Silvertone line from the 1413 series. In the
photo gallery, you'll see a real mix/match approach to knobs, pickups covers and

The 1411 and 1412 guitars
from Kay returned to the 'slab body' design of the
1410. Similar specs and hardware from the
recently retired 1413 series, and the
'paddle' headstock design continues on as well. These guitars represent the last
hurrah of Kay-built Silvertone electrics, as the Made In Japan imports took over
the catalog in Fall / Winter 1968, ending a legacy of Kay-sourced electric
Silvertones that went back to the early 50s.
