These Dano-made
Silvertones were getting closer to the classic Dano look.
They still had a slightly wider headstock (although it was slimmer than the
1375/77), the
body shape was almost there, and the pickups were already there, lipstick'd
to the max!

The 1357 and 1359 models were the so-called
'C' shape, with a width of 11¼ inches, compared to the 13¼ width of the coming
'U' shape. Look at the crafty placement of the strap buttons at the neck body
junction - not enough room to center it on top without hitting the neck-joining
screws, so Dano put it on the side! Some earlier 1448s solved the same problem
by off-centering the strap button.
