The 1466 was the biggest bass amp from Silvertone,
ever. Big power, big cabinet, big compliment of extras and features. Big price,
too: at $229.95 it was one of the top three priciest Silvertones ever made
available. The 1466 was the big brother to the 1463, beating it to market
by a couple of catalogs.
Introduced:
1966 at $229.95
as the 57H1466N
Retired:
Fall/Winter 1968 at $244.95
as the 57H1466N
The 1466 was the most powerful Silvertone bass amp Sears ever
made available. Six 10" speakers, and 150 clean, transistorized watts. No
effects to speak of, but 'that was the style at the time,' as Grandpa Simpson
would say. You could hide behind the cabinet if the crowd got rowdy; it's was
nearly 40 inches tall with the amp on top!
